tri feast

what is it

  • Tri FEAST is a six-month youth triathlon team.

  • It’s an affiliated club with USA Triathlon and their high school program - the only youth program in Northern Colorado.

  • This program is for individuals looking to train for triathlons and compete in multiple races throughout the summer and fall.

  • If participants are not interested in the nordic ski component of FEAST, this is the program for you.

  • Did you know: Triathlon is an NCAA emerging sport for women and is an equivalency sport which means athletic scholarships can be split into partial awards in any proportion up to the maximum allowed.

what we do

  • Training plans are emailed out on a weekly basis

  • Practice days of the week alternate on a weekly basis with Ski FEAST:

    • For example, one week Tri FEAST practices will be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The following week they will be Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

  • Three (3) practices per week:

    • Typically one swim day (pool or open water), one bike day (mountain or road), and one run day (trail or road).

    • Practice sessions will also include brick workouts, working on transitions, paddle boarding, and other fun outdoor activities.

    • There is no attendance requirement. You just have to communicate missed practices with Coach Kyle in advance. Ultimately, you’ll get out what you put in with this program.

  • Practice times:

    • Usually around 5:45 - 7:45 pm for weekday practices.

    • When we train on Sundays, it will be a morning practice.

    • Saturdays are always off (except when we’re at camps or races)

  • Training camps

  • Races/Events (triathlons as well as open water swim, bike, and running races and relays).

what you need

  • Swim suit (either a one piece, jammer, or tri suit)

  • Swim goggles

  • Helmet

  • Bike (mountain AND road bike is ideal, but we’ll help you get by with whatever type of bike you have!)

  • Running shoes

  • Camping gear (sleeping bag & pad) if participating in overnight camps and races

Provided by FEAST:
